1st Degree Black Belt, Demonstration Team Member
In his younger years after high school, he pursued a career in management where at one point he managed 2 Petland pet stores. Shortly, after moving to Georgia he met a beautiful lady Sandra. After several years of being in the pet store business and feeling he wasn't going anywhere, he decided a career change was in order and joined the United States Marine Corps. Soon after Chris married Sandra, he was shipped off to Okinawa, Japan for a year long unaccompanied tour. He spent the next 6 years on active duty as an Avionics Tech on the CH-46 helicopters between Japan and Jacksonville, North Carolina. Chris decided he wanted to be home to watch his children grow up (Mikayla and Corey), therefore he decided to move back to Georgia to pursue a career that would mean being home rather than away. He decided to join the Cobb County Police Department. He still found time aside from the rigorous training with the police department to serve a year and half in the Marine Corps Reserve as an Avionics Tech on the Huey and Cobra Attack helicopters. Chris spent the next 6 years working in East Cobb County as a beat officer, he knew was not what he wanted to do for his career with Cobb. After three years and hours upon hours of grueling classes, he was transferred to the Cobb County Special Operations Unit. Today, he is part of an elite traffic unit who's sole responsibility is reconstructing and explaining how serious injury and fatality accidents occur.
When Chris first came to Choi Kwang Do a year ago he was plagued with a badly injured left elbow from weight lifting. He had torn the lateral epicondyle tendon. He was going to physical therapy 3 times a week trying heal the injury. During this time and over the next two months Mrs. Wilson, School Owner/Head Instructor tried to convince him that Choi Kwang Do would increase and promote healing to his elbow. After 3 months of physical therapy his tendon wasn't healing, in fact it was getting worse. Chris couldn't even lift a soda can with out feeling pain. The doctors told him surgery was going to be the only way to repair the damage. So with the continued pressure from Mrs. Wilson he joined Choi Kwang Do. It's been almost a year now and he no longer feels pain in his elbow, and can lift heavy objects with out being in fear of the pain he once experienced. Chris has now worked his way up through the belt ranks and was selected to be part of the Assistant Instructor team and then went on to become a Head Instructor when he attained his 1st Degree Black Belt on 4/25/2008 in England. Chris has several hobbies his favorite is being a chef, others would include marksmanship, model airplane building/flying, and hanging out with friends.
